Introducing Daily Notes
One of the most exciting parts of Obsidian (in my opinion) is the Daily Notes. Here, we talk about what they are, and start setting them up.
Summary
Daily notes were a paradigm that I first came across in Roam Research, however they are a nod to paper journals. You keep a specific note for each day. Simple!
Daily notes are powerful because they give context to every note you are taking. They allow you to see the time and date of all future notes that you have taken. They also provide a frictionless writing environment - what I mean by that is you can come into Obsidian and start writing in the daily note without worrying about what to call a new note or where to file it.
The daily note is a fantastic scratchpad to drop ideas, thoughts, feelings and generally log your day.
